THE CHALLENGE Yankee Candle Company, with stores in 50 states and sales around the world, wanted a corporate headquarters and distribution facility that would meet its needs both today and far into the future. The two very different functions had to be accommodated on one property.
THE ODG APPROACH O’Connell Development Group first helped the companydefine its current and future needs, concluding that they could be met with a 75,600-square-foot office building and a 256,000-square-foot mechanized distribution center designed for easy expansion—all owned and managed by O’Connell Development Group. In the design phase, we designed and permitted the site for that future expansion. To realize the project, we built the office headquarters with our affiliated construction company, Daniel O’Connell’s Sons, and oversaw the construction of the distribution center.
RESULTS The result was a campus whose expansion, should it become necessary, was assured. More than a decade later, Yankee Candle still occupies the site.
