Reed & Prince/Price Chopper | Worcester, MA
O’Connell Development Group purchased the former Reed & Prince site in 2002 for redevelopment. The site was an abandoned 150-year-old manufacturing complex. The project required above- and below-grade remediation of a 10.51 acre lot, 600,000 square feet of building demolition, and redevelopment of the site with a new 70,000-square-foot building for Price Chopper. Key remediation activities included underground oil recovery, soils treatment and reuse, solvent impacted soils removal, asbestos removal, and PCB substations removal and disposal, including all manifests to appropriate disposal sites.
