Crossroads Business Park was developed by O’Connell Development Group in 2003 (link to Crossroads project page).  In 2004 Crossroad’s first tenants, American Honda Finance Corporation, signed a 10-year lease for an office building to be constructed at Crossroads Business Park. ODG worked with SLAM Collaborative to design the building and Western Builders to serve as Construction Manager. The building was a single-story office complex consisting of 22,000 square feet of office, conference, and support space. It featured an open-space floor plan with an employee patio off the kitchen area with a brick and EIFS exterior façade.

In 2022, after downsizing office space due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Honda Financial let ODG know that they would not be continuing to lease the building. That same year, ODG answered a Request for Proposal from DCAMM (Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance) for a Police Academy, operated by the state’s Municipal Police Training Committee.

In six months, ODG and our team of Kuhn Riddle Architects and Western Builders worked closely with DCAMM and the MPTC staff to convert the open office building to a police training facility, complete with classrooms, offices, fitness spaces, locker rooms and simulation rooms. This facility now operates as a full time Police Training Academy, one of four facilities in Massachusetts.  The building operates on a full-service lease agreement, with Appleton Corporation providing management services for the Academy.
